Educational aim:
In recent years, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has seen dramatic growth with the introduction of new and refined diagnostic tools as well as progress in therapeutic and preventive approaches to developmental psychopathology. This has been accompanied by strong advances in scientific research epidemiology, neuroscience, and genetics.  To prepare our developing junior investigators, the 8th Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research Training Seminar has been developed and will take place in Siena, Italy on 21-26 November 2010.
Structure of the educational project:
Foundation Child and the Working Group on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Italian Society of Psychopathology (SOPSI) are pleased to announce their support of the 8th Training Course in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for young researchers in child neuropsychiatry and psychiatry.
The aim of the course is to provide insights not only on relevant elements of clinical practice (diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the most important childhood psychiatric disorders) and research (designing a research project, research methods, basic principles of statistics, writing of scientific articles) but also those aspects which may complete the educational background of the young specialists, such as basic principles of leadership, public speaking, and communication.
The 5 days course, structured in lectures and interactive sessions, will be held by a panel of highly qualified teachers in the respective fields and areas, in a very suggestive place.
